There Are No Weeds In The Wild: Beautiful Boudoir

Boudoir photography gets a bad rap, but we are here to argue that boudoir can be done tastefully and beautifully! For us, boudoir is more than just taking photos of women wearing next to nothing; it’s about showing the beauty of womanhood–which doesn’t mean that a woman needs to wear something typically categorized as “sexy.” A woman can be fully clothed and still be sexy, and, more importantly, beautiful. This is largely why C&B Pictures is interested in creating “boudoir” images that are more fashion-forward than what other companies are doing, and in doing so, we strive to produce images that glorify a woman.

For our “Field of Wildflowers” series, we wanted to produce a set of images that are like those found in fashion magazines. We were able to photograph the series when the fields near the Tehachapi mountains were in full bloom–filling the field with bright purples and yellows. We advised our model, Sara Alysse , to bring clothing that was all white–we wanted her to stand out in contrast to the texture and color rich field.

Sara Alysse nailed it when we started photographing her! Her strong, yet, graceful presence shined in the empowering images of her holding up the long white draping fabric–letting it lightly blow in the soft wind–and we LOVE the images of her sitting romantically in the fields as the sun is setting–creating the best moody lighting we’ve seen outside, yet!

This series was so much fun to create, and we continue to create work that keeps pushing the sentiment that boudoir can be tastefully and fashionably beautiful!
