Walking down the isle, Kaila had a sensational view of the oceanside. Was she looking at the view, or Gabe?? This beautiful beach wedding took place at Shell Beach, which is between Avila and Pismo Beach.
We arrived at “Grandma’s” beach side condo to photograph the bride getting ready. We took photos of the western themed details, such as the bride’s boots, garter, jewelry, and dress. The groom arrived, and we photographed him getting ready with his son Bentley. This made for some truly great photos
The ceremony went well, with beautiful weather. We took a little time and photographed the family and bridal party at the ceremony location which overlooked the ocean, and, then, took only a few photos with the couple, as we planned on stealing them at sunset for some epic photographs–the plus side of this was that it got the bride and groom to the reception early! We also photographed some bride and bride-with-groom ground posing. This is something a lot of brides and photographers are afraid of…when this is done properly, however, the dress does not get damaged nor dirty. Sometimes, we will even do this before the ceremony!! The reception was a blast! The DJ kept the kids dancing all night! Speaking of dancing, the couples’ first dance had a very touching moment–leading to one of our favorite first dance photos ever– their toddler came up to them and squeezed his way in! The couples’ parents quickly came over to get him, but not before Gabe gave his son a sweet kiss. Between dances and cake, we took the couple back outside for sunset photos. The clouds were really cool that day, so we used off camera flash to light the couple, and expose for the beautiful sunset.
