One of the most common things we hear as photographers is “I don’t look good in photos.” We hear it so often that we automatically say “A bad photo is a bad photographer.” While the harsh reality of American obesity does play a role in how well one looks in a photograph, posing a lighting play a much bigger role. Nowhere is this more true than in boudoir photography. The more skin you show, the more mastery of the skills required to make you look your best. So why should you book your boudoir session?
Boudoir photography is about empowering women. No this isn’t a photographer’s opinion of the feminist movement, but rather the sense of self worth women gain when having done a boudoir session. Our job is to make you look better than you feel about your body. We want to show women how the world, their husbands, boyfriends, and significant others view them. As loving husbands, we see the world telling our wives they are not good enough, and we know they are. Photography allows us to show women they are beautiful the way God made them.
Boudoir is about love. As a Valentines Day gift or other special occasion, boudoir connects with guys on their level. Let’s make it clear here that boudoir is not porn or anything resembling it. Men are visual creatures by nature, and the fact that ads bombard us everyday with images of sexy women only confirms this. What could be a better way to show your man how much he means by giving him an intimate gift of you he will cherish for years.
Boudoir is extremely fun. Whether you are booking the session for your or a friend, doing the session is a blast. How often do you get to play dress up in your lingerie and play with props like balloons, paint, or his favorite sports gear. We know it can seem really awkward being in front of a camera, but a good photographer will make you feel comfortable and safe during the session. Our suggestion is to avoid alcohol before and during a session. Rather, bring a friend with you to help you feel comfortable.
Photography is about memories. There is a reason they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Turn your boudoir session into a memorable experience by going on a date too. Give album or set of prints as a surprise for a bigger impact. When we create memories tied to photos, we create stronger impressions. Add a little fragrance, and the memories will become vivid recollections for years with all of the emotions attached. What could be a better way to keep your romance alive.
Boudoir is art. We all love those classic artistic nudes which are not about nudity but the human figure. Boudoir is an extension of the artistic nude. This means it will be something you will be proud to display in your home, probably privately, but still displayed.
And the biggest reason, because you are beautiful. While how beautiful you are has already been stated, it is so important that it needs to be stated again. We truly believe people are gorgeous creatures created in God’s image. Unfortunately, people spend so much of our time telling ourselves we are worthless, ugly, fat, or stupid. Stop telling yourself that. One of the most powerful reminders of how pretty you actually are is seeing images of you looking amazing and sexy.
