Avoid a Mistake that Could Ruin Your Wedding

It is finally the big day. All of your planning and purchases have come together. Your dress is absolutely stunning and you can’t wait to see the look of surprise on his face. And how is it all going to be captured? You hired a guy who does both photos and video. A great deal right. By getting a combined service, you saved a little cash and made only one stop. This isn’t the best idea.

There are people out  there who produce beautiful work, but someone who dedicates all of there time to either photo or video will produce a higher quality product. However, this does not mean you shouldn’t hire a company to do your wedding which does both photo and video. There are several questions you can ask of the company you are looking to hire which will help you get the best service possible.

Do you have a person or persons dedicated to doing photo or video? The answer you want here is yes. If there is someone on staff who only does video or only does photo, then you have a good candidate.

Do any of your staff crossover into the other area? You are looking for people who have a passion for doing one thing really well.

Does the company have enough staff to adequately cover the event? Don’t fall into the trap that more guests means more staff needed. While this is true for caterers, photographers and cinematographers are a different story. Two people on staff is a good number to start with, but three or four is better. Proper cinematography needs two cameras to create a product which is visually appealing.

We all like to have things go as smoothly as possible, and hiring a company which can do both your photography and cinematography helps to ensure your day will. A staff that has already worked together and the ability to pay only one vendor instead of two is a great reason to book a company that does both. Don’t let that reason be the major deciding factor though.
