Bridal shows are a great place to find all the vendors you are looking for, but if you haven’t been before, it can be an intense experience. Here are some of the things you should expect to encounter.
Prices-
Many vendors will not give out their prices at a show. It isn’t that they are trying to keep them from you, but a show does not allow a vendor to spend the time with you to learn what your needs are. No two events are the same, and why should you pay as much as the next person when you want less or different service.
Fun-
Bridal shows are essentially a mini party. You will get to see photographers, decor, catering, and cake designers. In all likelihood, you will also get to try samples of food, cakes, and drinks if you find a bar service. Bring a few friends with you. Most bridal shows will have a fashion show with various wedding gowns and flower girl dresses. Some will even do a men’s formal wear show too.
Overwhelming-
Expect to be overwhelmed. With a great variety of vendors and new ideas at a show, it can be a lot to take in. However, if you have a strategy when you go, it can be a more enjoyable experience. Know what services you don’t have when you go and make it a point to visit those vendors. Take a notepad to keep track of ideas you like and grab cards from people you would like to talk to later. Taking a pocket calendar can also be a great idea so you can schedule meetings while you are there.
One Stop Shop-
While the number of choices can be a little overwhelming, the flip side is it gives more choices to you. This means you can find everything you need for the perfect wedding within the one day. A good show will have a variety of wedding photographers, cinematographers, cake decorators, catering, and venues. New Ideas-
One of the great things about a bridal show is seeing all the new things vendors are doing. Wedding vendors with years of experience know what the styles were last year and what is hot this year. This makes photographers, florists, and decorators the best people to ask what is hot. For example, coral is really popular this year.
