WE LOVE FALL, but being in Bakersfield means we get very little “fall’ time. So when the chance arrives that the leaves are turning and the sky is getting that moody fall feel, we rush to capture photos! Our window for doing so is really short; it seems as though fall arrives in Bakersfield, and a month later it is gone. So every fall–which is the end of October through the middle of November for us–we book up all our possible dates with family portraiture. It is always a success, and this year, the trees are giving us an even more beautiful pop of color– we even spotted some red in those turning leaves! It’s nothing compared to Boston’s fall, we know, but we soak up our little glimmer of those gorgeous colors the most we can!
For this session, we photographed our very own Chris Thomas–the ‘C’ in C&B Pictures–and his beautiful family–we kinda have a thing for his baby Gabe–and we photographed Bryan Oberg–the ‘B’ in C&B Pictures–and his beautiful family. *We know that was a crazy sentence to read with all those dashes, sorry!* The session, though, turned out so fantastic! The kids loved playing in the leaves…we even let Gabe chomp on some of them, and, of course, the parents were stars in front of the camera. What we love most about this session, though, is that everything photographed was real. We really want to capture fun, loving moments–where people are ACTUALLY laughing and ACTUALLY having a good time. Anyone can pose a person and snap a photo, but not everyone can capture a ‘real’ ‘genuine’ moment of a family elated by the presence of one another.
